After making fans wait a decade, Open Hand is back with WEIRDO, released on March 5, 2021. According to their album description on bandcamp, this album sounds like the 70s 80s and 90s combined. Horn sections .... old organs ... fuzzy fuckin guitars... epic bass and insane drums (Gil Sharone of Dillinger Escape Plan/Marilyn on the kit). This is CROSBY STILLS AND NASH and the Beach Boys meets BLACK SABBATH meets DEPECHE MODE meets FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS meets Peter Gabriel meets OPEN HAND!! If that doesn't get your attention, not sure what will. Be sure to check this album out, as it combines elements of all 3 of Open Hand's previous LPs, but with some new sounds and experimentation that really pushes their sound forward.
