Fading Out

The amazing Deep Elm Records is pleased to announce the forthcoming August 18th release of "Fading Out", the new mini-album by EVERYTHING IN WAVES. Everything In Waves' poetic union of emo, indie and electronic elements is delivered with lush layers, memorable hooks and smart lyrics to create a deeply rooted and deceptively simple organic feel that connects and resonates. A heartbreaker...Fading Out chronicles the end of an abusive relationship and hits hard.

The incredible title track Fading Out can be streamed below.

About the new single:

"Fading Out is the most personal music I have ever written. It helped me cope with the demise of an emotionally abusive relationship by giving me a therapeutic outlet into which I could express all of my troubled thoughts and feelings. The words and music of this album completely encapsulate a very tumultuous time in my life. On my debut Echoes, I took a more symbolic approach to songwriting and wrote non-biographical lyrics. But Fading Out is the exact opposite. Everything that I sing about on this album actually happened to me. It's all genuine and real. It was a difficult yet refreshing challenge to put myself out there completely raw and exposed, so I hope you can feel the sincerity and vulnerability in these songs," says frontman Anthony DelPlato.

Anthony continues, "Disassociation is probably the track that hits me the hardest as it describes the severe anxiety I endured as a result of this toxic partnership. I was completely losing touch with reality. I'd often have someone screaming in my face, yet nothing around me felt real anymore. This song's lyrics explain exactly how I felt in that moment and how I dealt with it. The title track Fading Out closes the loosely chronological sequence and narrates the end of this disastrous connection. The suffering, the pain, the misery, it all finally started to fade away. This is not a happy album, but one that I think we can all associate with. It gives us some reassurance that we are never really alone when we experience sadness, heartbreak and loss...knowing that eventually, it will be nothing but just a memory."

Fading Out was produced, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Anthony DelPlato at Low Oak Studios in Upstate New York. Album artwork by Nick Sessanna. Video for Fading Out by John Szuch. Reviews of Fading Out on Release Wave

Everything In Waves return with "Fading Out" EP

Everything in Waves have returned with Fading Out, an EP of 5 beautifully constructed songs that seamlessly combine elements of emo, electronic bedroom pop, and instrumentally layered indie rock, into catchy ear worms that will have you singing along in no time. The EP contains plenty of lush layers of jangly guitars and background instruments that wouldn’t be out of place on an Appleseed Cast, American Football or Minus the Bear record, while also sounding right at home with artists like Bon Iver, Matt Pond PA and Death Cab. A natural progression and perfect continuation of the debut LP "Echos", "Fading Out" continues with rich layers of multi-instrumentation, haunting melodies, big hooks, beautiful ambience, with a mix of tempos and emotion throughout. An album that will be best enjoyed with headphones on a dark summer night, but also an album you can rock to in your car on a breezy fall day! In continued fashion and not dissimilar from their debut effort, there are dark and melancholy tones throughout, but there is also something very uplifting and triumphant about these songs. Tracks like “Sidestreet” boasts a more upbeat tempo, big vocal hooks and a poppy melody, while songs like So Far Away build up slowly and quietly before everything comes crashing together right before it abruptly ends. It’s a diverse but cohesive set of songs that are definitely worth your time.
