One Last Dream Before Dying

Rising D.C. alt-rock group Day Aches have just announced their debut full length LP titled "One Last Dream Before Dying" set for release on September 19, 2023 via Really Rad Records. Roaring to life from the vibrant Virginia/DC hardcore scene, the band crafts a unique mosaic of emotion through introspective and dynamic soundscapes. The band draws heavily from 90s inspired guitar fueled alternative rock, shoegaze, and grunge.

About the LP, "One Last Dream Before Dying" emerges as a poignant and immersive journey through the landscapes of decay, growth, and transformation. Each track on this album delves into the intricate emotions that accompany the unraveling of relationships and the passage of time. From the haunting opening of 'Hide', which paints a psychedelic picture of loss and acceptance, to the emotionally charged crescendo of 'Wish', where fuzzed-out reverb-laden guitars and roaring vocals intertwine to convey the never-ending longing, the album's sonic tapestry becomes a mirror to the thematic core. The ethereal soundscapes of tracks like 'Lavender' and 'Merger Theory' beautifully capture the dreamy nostalgia that accompanies the idea of letting go, while 'Velvet Response' boldly delves into the depths of depression and anxiety, seamlessly blending grunge and shoegaze influences.

The band has also released the first single "Everything Blu" which can be streamed below along with its accompanying music video. "Everything Blu" is an explosive and crushing first look at the album, drenched in anguished romanticism and saturated with enough reverb and fuzz that it threatens to trap you in place. Vocalist Drew Lambert comments regarding the new single, "What started as a riff from our bassist Brady, quickly evolved into a fully-fledged song after a few writing sessions between him and I. This might make it the most collaborative effort on the album and it's also Brady's first contribution since joining the band. This serves as another great mix of inspirations that really pushes the sound of Day Aches further along."
