Post-American

Hattiesburg, Mississippi's loudest export, MSPAINT, have announced their debut full-length, Post-American, due out March 10th via Convulse Records. The four-piece have been turning heads recently with a truly singular sound that manages to blend hardcore aggression, post-punk melodicism, and hip hop cadences into a captivating sonic amalgam. Co-produced by Shelton along with engineer Taylor Young (God's Hate, Nails, Full of Hell), Post-American is an incredibly compelling debut from a group that's bringing something completely new to aggressive music. With disparate influences that range from Gulch to Three 6 Mafia to video game soundtracks, the guitar-less band manages to sound at once heavy and melodic, crashing head-bobbing bass lines into ever-shifting synths and agile drumming. Hattiesburg has recently become a hotbed for interesting underground music with MSPAINT at the forefront. This is a band that draws energy from human connection and gives it back tenfold in their music. That sound might not be easy to categorize, but it certainly is easy to love.
