Semaphore is set to release their new album "I Need A Reason To Stay" on March 24th, with the lead single "Smother" drawing inspiration from Foo Fighters and Balance and Composure. The 11-track record arrives October 10, 2026 through Candlepin Records. Recorded and mixed by Brian DiMeglio at Brooklyn Recording Paradise and mastered by Adam Cichocki at Timber Studios, Despite What You Say pushes Semaphore’s dense shoegaze atmosphere into a heavier, more direct strain of alternative rock and post-hardcore.
“Bunny” gives the first look at that shift, balancing blown-out guitars and melodic hooks with the kind of tension and weight that should land with fans of Drug Church, Chokecherry and The Joy Formidable.
