Chime

Boston, Massachusetts's self proclaimed “space punk” band will be releasing their sophomore EP titled "Chime" on April 14, 2023. The new EP will feature 5 brand new tracks of their infectious and melodic brand of "space punk", combining elements of 90s alternative rock, emo, shoegaze and post-grunge, fitting right in with bands like Balance and Composure, Narrow Head, Teenage Wrist, Soul Blind, Milly, Gleemer and many others drawing inspiration from this era of 90s guitar rock. The songs have a spacey yet passive-aggressive element to them, with nice melodies and hooks to go along with the quiet to loud dynamics. Prior to the release of "Chime", Heavy Sleeper released their debut EP Alive & Well in 2017 – recorded with Alex Poeppel (Roger Waters, jaboukie, Bay Faction, Carpool Tunnel) via Really Rad Records. The next few years saw them embark on several regional and international DIY tours with bands Northbound, Charmer, Soul Blind, Greet Death, American Pleasure Club, and many others. Following the EP’s success, the band independently released singles “Castaway” and “Visitor”, a big step forward from their debut EP with a bigger and more polished sound – garnering press support from the likes of New Noise, Substream, and IDIOTEQ, earning them many new fans hungry for more Heavy Sleeper music. Finally, we have their latest EP "Chime", showcasing significant progress in songwriting and their best collection of songs to date, while continuing along the path and foundation that was laid with former singles Castaway and Visitor, both which can be streamed below. You can also stream their latest singles "Drain" and "Sideways" from the forthcoming EP for a taste of what to expect with its April 14th release.

Heavy Sleeper features members Jordan Kulp (Vocals/Guitar), St. John Faulkner (Drums), Todd Johnson (Bass), and Quentin Singer (Guitar).
