Total Disarray

New York City three piece Quaker Wedding are gearing up to release their sophomore LP titled "Total Disarray" on April 14, 2022 via Salinas Records. The album will feature ten tracks of dark throaty melodic punk rock with anthemic hooks that is sure to please fans of Jawbreaker, Iron Chic, Leatherface and the like.

About the process leading up to this record, the band has this to say:

We put the finishing touches on our first LP in early March 2020 at a time when New York City seemed to be a little on edge. Within a week we had scattered to our respective boroughs to take refuge. Shows were cancelled and Dan and Ryan did the heavy lifting of getting our equipment out of the Pfizer Building, while Marco fled north to Canada. Through the spring and the summer we kept having virtual band practice, mostly as an excuse to drink a few beers and talk about the strangeness that permeated our days but we also kept exchanging demos and song ideas.

By August, Dan had the itch to drum again and moved his gear into a space in Greenpoint with our friends in Freezing Cold, who generously and regularly had to lend us gear. The space was coincidentally right below the rent-by-the-hour spot where we had our first ever practice. Marco returned to New York in September and we started practicing as a two-piece, fleshing out the songs and sending more polished demos to Ryan so he could work on guitar parts from the comfort of his home in Bay Ridge.

By the first day of spring 2021 we were ready to reunite with John Meridith who recorded, mixed and mastered this record. As usual he was knowledgeable, brilliant and skilled all while putting up with the fact that we often ignored the good advice he was giving us.

Dominic Armao once again provided much needed feedback, especially with lyrical phrasing, even chipping in a few choice phrases that made the final cut, all from his new home in Chicago, IllinoisErik Schwartz of Oakland, California generously provided the photographs on the front and back cover, ektachrome slides taken in the 1970s. The lyrics at the end of “Siren Songs” were adapted from two brilliant but geographically challenged bands that Dan was in over a decade ago. The second to last line is from “En Route” by How Do We Jump This High? The last one is from “Future Selves” by The State Lottery.
