Brooklyn shoegaze and indie rock band Crate have signed to Good English Records and announced their self-titled debut album, arriving November 13, 2026. The 11-track record includes earlier singles “Julia” and “Necklace,” with new single “Not My Song (Mine to Keep)” offering another preview.

Crate draw on the distorted guitar textures of My Bloody Valentine and the quieter pull of Duster and American Analog Set, pairing shoegaze haze with spacious arrangements and intimate melodies. Written over three years, the album was recorded across Brooklyn apartments and practice spaces before coming together at Ethan Williams of Shower Curtain’s studio in Queens. Cody Hudgins produced and mixed it alongside TJ Freda of Gift.

“Not My Song (Mine to Keep)” brings that more restrained side into focus. Hudgins connects the anxiety he experiences after smoking weed with memories of a relationship before his move to New York, reflecting on loving someone while recognizing the limits of what you can do to help them.

“It used to be a lot heavier and louder but we decided one day to turn it around and make it a lot slower and softer which I love,” Hudgins explains. “It’s probably my favorite song on the album.”
