Open spotify.com/account/privacy, tick Extended streaming history (not just “Account data”), and confirm from the email Spotify sends you.
Wait for the email
It usually arrives in a few days and can take up to 30. Claim your username now and we'll remind you in a week if you like.

Questions
Does my export get uploaded?
No. The zip is opened and read inside your browser. It never reaches our servers, and neither does anything from it that identifies where you were: IP addresses and countries are never even read. Only the finished stats (totals, charts, your artist list) are sent when you publish.
What exactly is stored?
The numbers on your page: hours per month and year, your artists with their play counts and top tracks, most-played tracks, streaks, and the weekday-by-hour chart. No individual plays, no timestamps beyond what's shown, no podcasts, and nothing from private sessions.
Can I hide when I listen?
Yes. “Hide when I listen” removes the weekday-by-hour chart and shows dates as months only. You can switch it any time without re-uploading. You can also make your page unlisted so only people with the link can see it.
Why not just connect my Spotify account?
Spotify doesn't share your history with apps. Connecting an account only gets your last 50 plays and a rough list of top artists, with no dates, no hours and nothing from years back. The export is the only way to get every stream back to your first one. It also means you never give us access to your Spotify account.
Why do I need the extended history?
The standard “Account data” download only covers the last year and leaves out the details this page needs. The extended history goes back to your first stream.
How do I delete it?
From your page or from your Release Wave settings. Deleting removes the page, its stats and your username straight away. Deleting your Release Wave account deletes it too.
