Liquid Mike share new standalone single “Inanimate Object”

Michigan’s Liquid Mike have shared “Inanimate Object,” a standalone single that pairs punchy guitars and bright melodies with a darkly funny look at grief and mortality. Vocalist/guitarist Mike Maple imagines the people we lose returning as household appliances—even a box fan—as a strange source of comfort.

Liquid Mike keep turning out some of the catchiest fuzzed-out, hook-fueled alternative rock around. They should be bigger, and this is another good reason to get on board. For fans of Guided By Voices, Weezer, Superchunk, and Sugar. Listen below.
