The Xcerts have shared “bury you,” the latest single from their forthcoming sixth album, I Think I Want To Go Home Now., out July 10 via FLG Records.

Arriving near the end of the album’s emotional arc, “bury you” is built around the idea of tough love — the kind of blunt, honest conversation that can happen between close friends during difficult stretches, or eventually with yourself. Frontman Murray Macleod says the song came from taking stock late in the writing process and wanting something that felt like a sobering conversation rather than easy optimism.

The album was written by all three members together in a room, a process the band had not returned to since their early records, and recorded by Larry Hibbitt at Beehive Studios. The band will support the release with UK in-store dates in July and will join Twin Atlantic for a run of shows in October.
