Boston DIY indie rock quartet Gollylagging Announce Debut Album Real Life, Share New Single “Comet”

Boston DIY indie rock quartet Gollylagging have announced their debut album, Real Life, arriving October 16, 2026 via Disposable America.

The ten-track record finds the band pushing its fuzz-heavy sound through shoegaze, punk, bedroom pop and alt-country. Fans of Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., Alex G, Swirlies and Pile should have a good sense of what to expect: loose melodies, thick guitar noise and songs that can shift from reflective to crushing without losing their hooks.

Alongside the announcement, Gollylagging have shared the latest single, “Comet.” Written by guitarist and vocalist Jules Skiffington, the track pairs bright melodies with darker subject matter as the band processes the collapse of a long-term friendship. Its accompanying video, directed by drummer Andrew Garas and Trent Reeder, captures a summer cookout and games with members of Boston’s DIY music community.

Real Life also includes previously released singles “Jackknife” and “Bronco.”
