Pure Hex

<p>SF Bay Area shoegaze / dream-pop up and comers Pure Hex are gearing up to release their debut LP titled "Still Dark" on June 3rd, 2022. Still Dark was produced and recorded by the masterful Corey Coffman (Gleemer) in Colorado over the course of 2021, and features 8 beautifully constructed shoegaze/dream-pop songs with emo undertones, that were written before and during the pandemic. The progression of the songs mimics the course of a dark day, and contain themes of solitude, loss, and hard learned lessons. The songs float from calm and quiet melodies to loud and explosive layers of reverb and distortion, sometimes slow to mid-tempo and sometimes upbeat, with an underlying pop structure to them. These are the perfect songs to get lost in; songs that evoke all sorts of emotions and that get stuck in your head for days. The first single from the forthcoming LP is called "Pedastal".  About the track, the band says "Pedestal is about ignoring your instincts, being haunted by bad decisions, and idolozing something beautiful even though it’s toxic. We wrote this song in 2019, so it’s a little older than some of the others on the album. It contrasts dark and heavy verses with light, catchy choruses."</p>
