Shiner
Shiner is a post-hardcore / space rock band formed in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1992. They are known for their intricate, melodic sound, with heavy guitars and spacey atmospherics, often compared to Failure, Swervedriver, and Hum. The band initially consisted of Allen Epley, Jeff Brown, and Shawn Sherrill, with Tim Dow later replacing Brown on drums. After several lineup changes and releases, Shiner disbanded in 2003. However, they reunited in 2012 for a series of reunion shows and eventually released a new album, Schadenfreude, in 2020. The band is currently signed to Spartan Records and will release a new LP in fall of 2025.

CELEBRATED KANSAS CITY ROCK BAND SHINER ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM BELIEVEYOUME
Spartan Records and Shiner are proud to announce the Friday, September 26, 2025 release of BELIEVEYOUME, the longstanding and celebrated Kansas City rock band’s brand new album. Along with the announcement, the band has released the lead off single "Asleep at the Trunk" now streaming everywhere. Having spent over three decades redefining heavy, melodic rock, evolving from the raw power of their early years into something more layered, dynamic, and emotionally resonant, BELIEVEYOUME finds the band channeling that evolution into a set of songs that feel immediate yet timeless, balancing their signature heaviness with newfound space and vulnerability. BELIEVEYOUME digs deep into aging, relationships, and self-deception, its title reflecting the ambiguity and contradictions at the heart of human connection. The result is Shiner at their most honest and self-aware — still heavy, still weird, and still pushing forward after all these years. Check out the full press release below and be sure to pre-order the LP and stream the new single! It rocks!
RIYL: Failure, No Knife, Jawbox, Hum, Swervedriver, Castor
