Pop Punk band Super Sometimes release latest single and video for “Make Up Stories” from forthcoming LP

Southern California pop punk band, Super Sometimes, have released a new single from their forthcoming album ‘Show the World What’s Underneath’ out May 15 via Pure Noise Records. Today, fans can stream and watch the new music video for “Make Up Stories” below.

“Make Up Stories” follows “Afterthought”, which was released with the announcement of the new album. “’Make Up Stories” is a direct continuation of “Afterthought,” painting a picture of the same person who mistreated you crawling back, trying to beg and manipulate their way back into your life,” explains the band. “Lyrically, this song was incredibly fun to write. We used the concepts of a court trial and a game of chess as analogies for a broken relationship.”

“This track showcased significant growth in musicianship between the three of us,” the band continues. “It was more sophisticated than anything we had done before, and it truly opened our eyes—kicking the door down for us to go all in musically on this record.”

Check out both singles below for some late 90s melodic skate punk meets early 2000s Drive Thru Records style emotionally charged pop punk! Fans of New Found Glory, Slick Shoes, Fenix TX, Green Day, Blink 182, The Starting Line should check this out immediately!

SoCal rising pop punkers Super Sometimes release latest single "Learned My Lesson" from forthcoming LP out May 15 via Pure Noise

Super Sometimes, the rising, Gen Z pop punk band from Southern California, have released another new single from their forthcoming album ‘Show the World What’s Underneath’ out May 15 via Pure Noise Records. Today, fans can stream and watch the music video for “Learned My Lesson” below.

‘“Learned My Lesson” is a staple track on the record that we wrote in a single afternoon with Chris Freeman of Hot Mulligan,” explains the band on the new single. “Chris really pushed our boundaries on this track, challenging us not to make just another run-of-the-mill pop-punk song—and that’s exactly what we did. With a greater reliance on pop-leaning melodies, synth, organ, and tambourine, the song was intentionally very different from most of our older work in order to let the melodies and lyrics speak for themselves. Taking direct influence from Bloc Party and Hot Mulligan (obviously), this song is a true testament to us being more than just your standard pop-punk band—in the best way.”

Fans of early 2000s pop punk should check this out right away!
