The Strokes

The Strokes are a New York City rock band built around Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond Jr., Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti. Their 2001 debut Is This It became a blueprint for the early-2000s garage-rock and post-punk revival: dry guitars, clipped rhythms, downtown nerves, and choruses that sounded effortless even when they were anything but.

After Room on Fire, First Impressions of Earth, Angles and Comedown Machine, the band returned in 2020 with the Rick Rubin-produced The New Abnormal, which won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. Their seventh album, Reality Awaits, is due July 24, 2026 via Cult Records/RCA Records and was recorded in Costa Rica with Rubin, with “Going Shopping” and “Falling out of Love” arriving ahead of the record.
