ANORAK!

Tokyo emo band ANORAK! will release their third album, FINGERS CROSSED, on October 22, 2026 via Counter Intuitive. Led by the September 23 single “SUMMER TOUR,” the 10-song record draws on the members’ hometowns, Tokyo’s emo, alternative and hardcore punk communities, international touring connections and dance music.

The record builds on the band’s combination of intricate guitars, English and Japanese lyrics, programmed elements and heartfelt, emotive vocals with occasional Auto-Tuned effects. “DA BOYS” features The tiva. Junta Hayashi mixed and mastered the album at No New York Studio and Tuppence Studio, with cover artwork by Tomoho Maeda and cover photography by Yasutaka Tanabe.

"This is a rock album that traces the band's journey over the six years since we formed. It draws on the hometowns each of us comes from, and on the emo, alternative and hardcore punk bands of Tokyo that are part of our roots — as well as on the many bands from overseas we've met along the way, and on dance music. We didn't hold back from putting the inspiration that comes out of our own experiences and emotions straight into the songs. This record was made with respect for the emo/punk scene that raised us here in Tokyo, and with the aim of pushing it into a new dimension.” — ANORAK!
