Blanket

The new Blanket singles "In Awe" and "Where The Light Takes Us" hasve been spinning on repeat since their release. They've definitely stretched their shoegaze sensibilities in these new songs, while still incorporating the prog and mathy metal they're known for. Along with that, they've included some nice hooks and more prominent vocals, which give the songs an added layer of accessibility this go round. That said, they haven't abandoned the heaviness either, which makese these songs very powerful. Definitely getting some Loathe, SOM and Deftones vibes on these new jams, which is not a bad thing. This is shaping up to what could be an outstanding sophomore album, and one that I'm sure I will have plenty more to say about once I hear it in full.
