Celebration Guns
What Keeps Us Coming Back
What Keeps Us Coming Back is the sophomore full-length from Arizona emo and math rock band Celebration Guns, arriving September 18, 2026 via We’re Trying Records. The 11-track record follows years of starts, stops and lineup changes that left the band uncertain whether a second LP would ever come together.
Between 2018 and 2022, Celebration Guns recorded 21 songs, but rather than forcing those sessions into LP2, the band released four EPs and two splits between 2020 and 2024. By 2023, three of the four original members had departed. Songwriter Justin Weir found new momentum with guitarist Johl Driscoll, drummer Justin Quigley and bassist/producer Joshua Medina, and the reworked lineup returned to the studio in 2024 to make the second album a reality.
The result is a more focused and versatile version of Celebration Guns. Lead single “Johl Rides Again” and follow-up “Maudolin” showcase the band’s mix of powerful guitar tones, melodic hooks and math-rock detail, while other songs pull back toward quieter indie-rock and ballad territory. The production strikes a balance between clean and gritty, leaving room for the vocals while still letting the guitars and rhythm section carry their own weight.
What Keeps Us Coming Back is available September 18, with vinyl preorders available through We’re Trying Records.
