Philadelphia, PA shoegazers Cigarettes for Breakfast have announced their sophomore LP titled "Slow Motion" set for release on February 21, 2025 via Abandon Everything Records (Vinyl), Candlepin Records (Tape), and The Upstate Sound (Digital). Produced, recorded, and mixed by lead singer/guitarist and songwriter Matthew Paul Whiteford at The Hatch Studio in Philadelphia, PA, the new album contains 11 new tracks of melodic and heavy shoegaze / dreampop, featuring walls of fuzzed out guitars, soothing vocals and catchy hooks. Known for their lush soundscapes and raw, emotive, fuzzed-out performances, capturing the essence of shoegaze and dream pop greats, such as My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, the new album sees the band divining deeper into their shoegaze influences, while appealing to both purists of the genre and newer fans of all things shoegaze adjacent as well.
