Dead Tired

Dead Tired began as a passion project between friends balancing lives in arena-touring rock bands, thriving recording studios, and tattoo shops. Free from pressure or deadlines, Hamilton, Ontario's finest upper crust punks have built their sound organically: loud, chaotic, and uncompromising.

That approach continues on their latest LP, Hornets of Fall, arriving August 14 via New Damage Records. The album delivers 12 crushing tracks filled with speed, massive riffs, and noise-rock intensity, making it the band's heaviest and most confident record yet. To mark the announcement, Dead Tired has shared the album's first single, "Edge of Entropy."

"'Dead Tired can be a real vehicle for my more misanthropic lyrics,'" says singer George Pettit. "'Edge of Entropy' is basically about standing back and watching as the world collectively makes the wrong decision and how people choose self-interest at their own peril.'"

Recorded and produced by the band's own Marco Bressette at Deadquarters Studio in Hamilton, Hornets of Fall also features guest appearances from fellow Canadian punk and hardcore standouts Liam Cormier (Cancer Bats), Andrew Neufeld (Comeback Kid), and Chris Cresswell (The Flatliners / Hot Water Music).

With little to no pressure to rush out an album, the quintet slowed their process to ensure the final presentation was something they could all stand behind. By taking the time to write and record at their own pace, the band allowed the songs to fully develop before sending them off into the digital ether. That patience and attention to detail can be heard throughout Hornets of Fall, a record the band hopes listeners will connect with as deeply as they do.

Dead Tired has previously released Dead Tired (2015), Full Vol. (2019), and Satan Will Follow You Home (2022), along with several EPs and standalone singles. Along the way, they've earned coverage from outlets including Exclaim!, Idobi Radio, Metal Injection, New Noise Magazine, Punknews, and VICE.

As the band puts it, Hornets of Fall has something for just about everyone: if you want it fast, it's there. If you need it slow, that's covered too. If you demand a riff, just wait a second. And if you want blood, you've got it.
