Everything In Waves

Everything in Waves have returned with Fading Out, an EP of 5 beautifully constructed songs that seamlessly combine elements of emo, electronic bedroom pop, and instrumentally layered indie rock, into catchy ear worms that will have you singing along in no time. The EP contains plenty of lush layers of jangly guitars and background instruments that wouldn’t be out of place on an Appleseed Cast, American Football or Minus the Bear record, while also sounding right at home with artists like Bon Iver, Matt Pond PA and Death Cab. A natural progression and perfect continuation of the debut LP "Echos", "Fading Out" continues with rich layers of multi-instrumentation, haunting melodies, big hooks, beautiful ambience, with a mix of tempos and emotion throughout. An album that will be best enjoyed with headphones on a dark summer night, but also an album you can rock to in your car on a breezy fall day! In continued fashion and not dissimilar from their debut effort, there are dark and melancholy tones throughout, but there is also something very uplifting and triumphant about these songs. Tracks like “Sidestreet” boasts a more upbeat tempo, big vocal hooks and a poppy melody, while songs like So Far Away build up slowly and quietly before everything comes crashing together right before it abruptly ends. It’s a diverse but cohesive set of songs that are definitely worth your time.
