Gel mature (just a little) on their new EP "Persona"

Blistering hardcore legends return with yet another set of songs; this time in the form of 5 song EP I have on repeat.
GEL are one of those bands who excite you, and not just because there's a front-woman. Gel's mix of old school, classic punk and modern hardcore gathered plenty of critical acclaim with their LP "Only Constant," which is 10 songs averaging about 1:45 of anthemic, driving punk hardcore.
With "Persona," we can sense the growth; the production tighter, hooks just a little stronger. The song lengths are longer, the depth is growing, and it's only over after you've had just enough.
Gel are one of those bands who sound characteristically like what everyone else might be doing, but they do it better. I simply cannot wait to hear what this band does next, because if it's any indication, this band is about to release one of the best Punk/Hardcore LP's when their next one comes out, and Persona is just a taste of that.
