July 21, 2023The ever-prolific and always active Guided By Voices is back at it again with their second release of 2023, a brand new full-length record entitled Welshpool Frillies, due July 21 via GBV Inc. To introduce the record alongside its announcement, the group additionally shares its first single, "Seedling" which can be streamed below.
Guided By Voices previously kicked off the year with the release of an LP entitled La La Land, described by bandleader Robert Pollard as "a companion piece to Tremblers and Goggles By Rank [that] continues to explore a path of diversity in styles and in longer, more adventurous song structures." In 2022, GBV shared three other records: the aforementioned Tremblers and Goggles By Rank, Crystal Nuns Cathedral, and Scalping The Guru.

As a follow-up to the record's first single, "Seedling," today, the band returns with a second single entitled "Meet The Star," along with an accompanying lyric video that can be streamed below.
"Meet The Star" is the opening track on the upcoming GBV LP and is another slice of bouncy brilliant indie-rock that has me even more excited for the new LP out next month. Check it out below.
