I've been following Evan Weiss's career ever since he was in The Progress. I've also been a big fan of his other projects like Pet Symmetry and Their/They're/There and have covered many of his releases on previous music blogs. However, it's been the music he writes and records as Into It. Over It. that I've really connected with the most. His songwriting ability has shown a steady progression since I first heard the stripped down songs from 52 weeks some 11+ years ago. And with the new singles he's released from his forthcoming LP "Figure", we may be in for his best songs yet. With Into It. Over It. Evan has a knack for combining mid-western emo, mathy guitar driven indie-rock and power-pop, that sounds often meloncholy but also uplifting and full of raw energy and emotion. While incorporating technical rythyms and interlaced guitar leads, Into It. Over It. still manages to write songs with huge melodies and memorable pop hooks while always bringing something new to the table with each release. Don't sleep on this release and pre-order this album right away!
