L.S. Dunes "Violet" steps it up on their follow up

As a longtime Circa Survive fan, I was eager to hear Anthony Green's work with L.S. Dunes on their sophomore follow up. And while I do miss the atmospheric textures of his previous band, the raw energy of L.S. Dunes is a welcome change. Violet delivers a more focused and polished sound than their debut, showcasing Green's incredible vocals alongside driving riffs and a tight rhythm section. This post-hardcore supergroup, featuring members of My Chemical Romance, proves L.S. Dunes are more than just a side project; they're a force to be reckoned with.
Several tracks on Violet really stand out, offering glimpses of Green's earlier work. "I Can See It Now" has that raw, visceral feel reminiscent of early Circa Survive, complete with Anthony's signature screams and some seriously mathy riffs. Then there's the album closer, "Forgiveness," which leans more towards a pop anthem than straight post-hardcore.
So, while "Violet" may not be the most unique, it's a solid collection of catchy, fairly straightforward rock songs––I'm glad Anthony is still doing it.
