Porto, Portugal's alternative/emo nu-gaze punks Memorial State are gearing up to release their sophomore EP titled "Bloomed", set for release on March 18, 2022 via Ring Leader Records. The EP will feature 5 new songs of driving melodic distortion heavy guitar rock with big hooks, combining the best elements of early 2000s emo/punk with the shoegaze and heavy alt rock sounds of the 90s. Bands like Title Fight , Basement, Modern Color, Nothing and Teenage Wrist come to mind when listening to these new songs, while at the same time, the music hearkens back to darker 90s alt/indie rock pop like Sugar (Bob Mould) and Dinosaur Jr, bringing strong melodies and pop structure to these oustanding jams. You can hear a lot of passion was put into these songs which are meant to be played loud and will certainly go over well in a live club setting.
