Modern Shakes are gearing up to release their debut full-length record A Bolt From The Blue (Disconnect Disconnect (UK), Cats Claw Records (UK), Fond of Life (DE), Keep It A Secret (DE) Double Helix Records (US) and Punk Rock Radar (US)), on May 24, 2024. The album offers ten tracks of heartfelt melodic punk rock akin to bands like Leatherface, Jawbreaker, Hot Water Music, and Banner Pilot, demonstrates the band’s growth, and combines their signature catchy hooks with thoughtful, emotive song writing and lyrics.

With a triple whammy of single releases in the lead up to the album release "Ask The Dust," "Icing On The Horizon" and "Canadasolite," Modern Shakes demonstrates that they understand the importance of living in the moment and finding the best way to breathe hope into one's existence, whilst overcoming the daily struggles of life that family, friends, and your number one enemy, yourself, can throw in your direction.

For those not otherwise familiar, Modern Shakes are a melodic punk rock band from London, UK. The band was formed in late 2017 by Ian C (guitar/vocals) and Dan (drums/vocals), later joined by Ian B (guitar) and Matt (bass). The debut EP, Murmur, evoking highly positive reviews and gigs with bands such as Billy Liar, The Dopamines, Raging Nathans and Clowns helped to put Modern Shakes firmly on the map. 2020 saw the follow-up release, “Someday, One Day”, released via Cats Claw Records (UK). With singles “Fair Do's” and “Cruising” getting fists pumping and choruses yelled at shows up and down the country, the band started to gather a following in scenes outside of their hometown.

The grind continues as Modern Shakes prepare to release A Bolt From The Blue, their debut full-length album recorded by Daly George at The Ranch Production House.
