New Junk City

Where Could I Go?

Where Could I Go? is the fourth full-length from Atlanta indie punk band New Junk City, out November 6, 2026 via Lauren Records. Written over roughly two years, the 12-song record looks at the harder parts of building a life around love: making room for another person’s grief, the compromises demanded by work and relationships, and learning to live with your own shortcomings without letting them harden into resentment.

The album was recorded at Standard Electric with longtime New Junk City collaborator Damon Moon and produced by Tyler Bisson. Lead single “Lonely Now” focuses on the moment repeated disappointment becomes clarity, with the band describing the song as being about setting boundaries and accepting a changed relationship without retaliating.

RIYL: Superchunk, The Replacements, Green Day, The Weakerthans, The Get Up Kids

New Junk City announce new LP Where Could I Go? and share lead single “Lonely Now”

August 19, 2026

Atlanta punk band New Junk City have announced their fourth full-length album, Where Could I Go?, due November 6 via Lauren Records, and shared its lead single “Lonely Now” streaming below.

Written over roughly two years, the 12-song album takes on the messier realities of love — making room for someone else’s grief, the compromises demanded by work and relationships, and accepting personal shortcomings without allowing them to turn into resentment. Where Could I Go? was recorded at Standard Electric with longtime collaborator Damon Moon and produced by Tyler Bisson.

Lead single “Lonely Now” centers on a relationship defined by absence and repeated letdowns, with the band describing the song as being about “putting up boundaries and accepting the new reality of a relationship without retaliating or feeling the need to push back.”

Formed in 2013. New Junk City's songs pair heart-on-sleeve writing with sharp, melodic hook-filled punk edge, drawing on influences that range from The Weakerthans and Fucked Up to Green Day; the band has also jokingly embraced the description “Tom Petty as played by Green Day.”
