Dayton-based math rock/post-hardcore power trio Place Position is set to release their album *Went Silent* on January 23. The band, which includes members of Landfilth, Shadyside, and The 1984 Draft, has collaborated with a group of DIY labels including Sweet Cheetah Records, Poptek Records, Bunker Park Records, and Blind Rage Records to bring this album to vinyl. The album features 10 songs that were recorded in a Southwest Ohio basement over the course of two days in the Fall of 2024, with mixing handled by Derl Robbins, formerly of Motel Beds. The band describes themselves as a musical group from Dayton, Ohio, stating, 'We write as needed and play when necessary.' Their unique sound is likely to resonate with fans of Faraquet, Unwound, and Fugazi. The decision to release *Went Silent* came after a period of uncertainty, but encouragement from Gwen of Blind Rage Records led them to press the album and perform live. Fans can listen to the album in its entirety through an album premiere at *New Noise Magazine*. Place Position is excited to share their work with the world and invites listeners to experience their distinctive blend of math rock and post-hardcore influences.
