Riverside
Taste
Riverside’s long-shelved second album, Taste, arrives on streaming platforms for the first time on December 4, 2026 through Lost in Ohio. Recorded as the follow-up to their 1992 debut One, the album was produced and mixed by Paul Mahern, whose credits include Afghan Whigs and Zero Boys.
The record had been recorded, mixed and mastered, with photography completed and a release date set, before it was shelved. A small CD run followed in 2002, sold by the band at shows, and copies circulated among fans for years.
Taste builds on Riverside’s chiming guitar pop and close vocal harmonies, adding a rougher edge to melodies that draw from The Smiths, The Railway Children and Aztec Camera. Advance single “Again” opens the 12-song album, while the 13-minute “Indiana” stretches out its closing passage. The December release makes this overlooked chapter in the band’s catalogue widely available digitally.
