Snarls

In Heaven There's Rainbows

Five years on from their Stereogum Band To Watch breakout and two years after the Chris Walla-produced With Love, Snarls return with In Heaven There's Rainbows — a five-song EP that finds the Columbus, Ohio band leaning harder into grunge-tinged guitars without letting go of the hooks. It's their first release as a four-piece, with drummer Mike Taddeo now alongside founders Chlo White (vocals/guitar), Riley Hall (bass), and Mick Martinez (guitar).

After years on the road with the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Movements, and Briston Maroney, the band stripped things back for this one — writing in the basement with no deadlines and recording with friends. Drew Carroll tracked the sessions at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville and Joe Camerlengo at Hole In The Sky in Columbus. The songs dig into doubt, addiction, love, lust, and loss, wrapped in what the band describes as "grungy guitars, booming drums, and gut-wrenchingly ethereal vocals."

Lead single "No Lock, No Prayer" — a driving, Y2K-alt-radio throwback with a video directed by Alex Scalzo-Brown — set the tone, followed by the brighter, dream-chasing "One Wish." Reviewers have reached for Wolf Alice, Wet Leg, Snail Mail, and Smashing Pumpkins as touchpoints, but the songs stay unmistakably Snarls. Out June 26, 2026 via Take This To Heart Records, with vinyl and merch available through the label.
