Sparta, the celebrated Texas alt-rock band, is set to release their new album, 'Cut A Silhouette', on May 29, 2026. Produced by the legendary J. Robbins at Magpie Cage Studio, this album marks a significant evolution for the band, building on their legacy while exploring new musical territories. The first single, 'Crater', co-written with Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance, showcases the band's signature sound, characterized by a blend of post-hardcore energy and melodic introspection. The album's creation was a deeply personal journey for frontman Jim Ward, who describes it as a 'love record'. He emphasizes the importance of leaving an impression with this work, stating, 'I want it to leave an impression, and at this point in my career, that's what I yearn for.' The songwriting process involved collaboration in various settings, including hotel rooms and practice spaces, reflecting a renewed sense of unity within the band. 'Cut A Silhouette' opens with the frenetic energy of 'Split Lip' and transitions into the urgent 'Crater'. The album features contributions from notable musicians, including Kemble Walters and Adrian Borgeois, adding depth to the sound. Ward believes this album represents a return to form for Sparta, stating, 'This feels like we're a fucking band again.' The chemistry among the band members is palpable, resulting in a record that captures both their history and their current creative spirit. In support of the album, Sparta will embark on a tour, including festival appearances and shows across Latin America, further solidifying their presence in the alt-rock scene. Fans can look forward to experiencing the evolution of Sparta through 'Cut A Silhouette', a record that promises to resonate deeply with listeners.

Equal Vision Records, Dine Alone Records and Sparta are pleased to present “Everything You Say,” the latest track to be lifted from the Friday, May 29 release of Cut A Silhouette, the forthcoming album from the celebrated El Paso, TX-based alt-rock band. “The music for this was brought in by Matt [Miller] to the earliest writing sessions at my house in El Paso, tweaked in a hotel room in Oklahoma City and played at a soundcheck that night,” frontman Jim Ward recalls. “It is one of those songs that takes shape early and no matter how you adjust, it just keeps ending up back where it started. I love it. This is a dreamy song about longing and love. A big scream declaring desire.”
