Sunsleeper

Sunsleeper are a band I've been following for awhile now, dating back to their debut EP "Stay The Same" from 2016 and followed by their outstanding debut LP "You Can Miss Something and Not Want it Back" released in 2019. The Salt Lake City indie-rock 5 piece are now returning after a 3 year wait to bring us their sophomore LP titled "While You Can" due this fall, and the new songs clearly reflect a band that has progressed in their songwriting and maturity, while still staying true to their sound. The newer material still has their trademark emotive alternative rock sound written all over it, but where their past output had more in common with early aughts emo and pop punk, these new songs are drenched in 90s inspired alternative rock, while containing elements of dream pop not far removed from Peripheral Vision era Turnover. The songs are loaded with melodies and meloncholy, while still sounding full of energy and catchy as ever. Keep an eye out for their upcoming LP and pre-order the album at the link above.
