Wisconsin-based Midwest Emo outfit Tiny Voices is back in a BIG way. The band returns with My Mind’s Recession, their third EP and first self-released record, out July 21, 2026. The release follows 2025’s Reasons I Won’t Change and continues the band’s mix of nostalgic emo, modern pop-punk energy, and direct, personal songwriting.
Since their first release in 2021, the band has taken that spark across the country: playing dozens of shows, building a dedicated following, and continuously evolving their sound while holding onto the heartfelt, energetic style that defines them. Their discography includes the EPs Where the Time Went (2021) and Make Up Your Place (2023), both well-received for their blend of nostalgic emo and modern pop punk. Their PNWK Records debut Reasons I Won't Change, released in 2025, marked a new high point for the band — earning them a spot on Brooklyn Vegan's 50 Best Punk Albums of 2025.
The band states, "my mind's recession is a collection of songs about a period of my life where I had backtracked on much of the progress I had made on both my mental and physical health. The lyrics reflect on going back to old habits after over a month of progress in songs like "oh boy! 3am!", alongside "losing color" and "never going back to toledo (ohio)" that dig into my more personal gripes with my mentality and the religious complex that helped shape it. The final track, "(how can I) take it one step at a time when everything is happening at once," closes out the EP on a moment of hopefully reflection as the track rings out on the line “maybe one day I’ll control my life."
Expect four emo-punk anthems with twinkly guitars, soaring melodies and sing-along hooks that fan's of Hot Mulligan, Ben Quad, Carly Cosgrove, Arm's Length, Kerosene Heights, and Good Sleepy are sure to enjoy.
