Chat Pile have shared “Same Rules,” the latest single from their forthcoming third LP, Who Loves The Sun, out September 4.

The track keeps the band’s confrontational edge intact while leaning into a more melodic, hook-driven approach. Bassist Stin says it’s the “first real Chat Pile song mostly recorded on 4-track cassette,” born from a challenge to write a trip-hop song — even if vocalist Ray B. ultimately decided it didn’t qualify.

Who Loves The Sun follows God’s Country and 2024’s Cool World, turning the band’s bleak focus toward climate collapse, dead-end work, digital alienation, and the broader malaise of life in the 21st century.
