Chat Pile share crushing new single/video “PEN I S MALL” from forthcoming LP Who Loves The Sun

Chat Pile have shared their latest single, “PEN I S MALL,” from their forthcoming third LP Who Loves The Sun, out September 4 via The Flenser.

The Oklahoma City noise rock band’s new track leans hard into the uglier, more physically punishing side of their sound, pairing the band’s familiar dread and social decay with one of their most direct blasts of heaviness yet. According to bassist Stin, “PEN I S MALL” is “the heaviest Chat Pile song to date,” with the title and lyrics tracing back to a period when vocalist Ray B. worked maintenance at a local shopping mall in Oklahoma City.

Ray B. frames the song around the grind of survival and working-class exhaustion, noting how even a job that could theoretically be simple or strange enough to be enjoyable becomes warped by the brutal realities of capitalism and economic pressure.

Who Loves The Sun follows God’s Country and Cool World, pushing Chat Pile further into themes of collective indifference, dead-end labor, climate collapse, and the slow-motion rot of modern life. Watch the video and stream “PEN I S MALL” below.
