Philadelphia’s They Are Gutting a Body of Water have announced KOOL FAITH / LOOSIES II, a sprawling 29-track mixtape arriving October 16 digitally and November 20 physically via ATO Records x Julia’s War. Along with the announcement, TAGABOW have shared three new tracks: “kool marder” featuring Cashier, “the rook” and “free willy.”
The follow-up to 2025’s LOTTO takes the band’s already restless mix of shoegaze, noise and electronic experimentation even further into mixtape territory, pulling in a huge cast of collaborators including SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, Hotline TNT, Full Body 2, haloplus+, Greg Mendez, DJ Manny, Horse Jumper of Love, Her New Knife, A Country Western, Total Wife and more.
Doug Dulgarian says the idea grew out of the homemade and bootleg mixtape culture he remembers growing up with—local DJs throwing favorite artists together, remixing parts and creating unexpected combinations. That same anything-goes approach runs throughout KOOL FAITH / LOOSIES II, making it a loose, collaborative companion to TAGABOW’s more traditional studio records.
