Bend
Austin indie rock band Bantom Woods return with Bend , out June 26, 2026 via Shifting Sounds. The LP pulls together alternative rock, jangly college rock, dream pop, post-punk edges, and fuzzed-up hooks across 9 brand new tracks.

Though relatively new as a project, Bantom Woods are far from newcomers. The group is comprised of longtime veterans of Austin’s indie rock ecosystem: Jeff Black, John Hunt, Hector Lanza, Mark McMillan and Andy Thompson. All are Austin musicians who have collectively spent decades shaping the city’s underground sound.
Drawing on deep roots in bands across the scene, the members fuse influences ranging from alt-rock and post-punk to dream pop and early ’90s college indie, crafting what has been described as a “unique and ultra catchy” sonic identity. Their sound channels the spirit of classic independent rock lineage while remaining firmly grounded in the present-day Austin DIY ethos.
With the upcoming release of Bend, the band continues to build on momentum following earlier releases, including their debut EP With All Due Respect and subsequent singles that introduced their textured guitar work, melodic sensibilities, and emotionally resonant songwriting.
