Bantom Woods

Bantom Woods are an alternative indie rock band from Austin, Texas, led by vocalist John Hunt and made up of longtime Austin players whose histories stretch across multiple bands and more than two decades, including connections to Silver Scooter. After releasing their debut EP With All Due Respect in 2023, the band returned in 2025 with “Lotteries & Lightning Strikes,” the first single from their forthcoming LP.

Bend, out June 26, 2026 via Shifting Sounds in North America, the UK, and Europe, expands the band’s sound without sanding down its grit. The album feels like a clear step forward from the band’s first EP, with bigger production, a louder guitar presence, and a more confident sense of movement across its jangly, dreamy, and heavier moments.

The early singles “Lotteries & Lightning Strikes” and “Bail Polish” point toward a record that should land with fans of The Replacements, Sonic Youth, Sugar, Ride, Swervedriver, The Hold Steady, and Superdrag.
