Bleached Cross

Chicago blackened darkwave band Bleached Cross have shared their new single “Blood Moon,” the final preview of their forthcoming album Wrath, out July 24, 2026 via New Morality Zine.

Built around shimmery guitars, synth-heavy atmosphere, and a cathartic ending, “Blood Moon” reflects on memory, loss, and devotion. About the track, the band states, “This song is about eternal love, devotion, and the idea of fate bonding people together even beyond death.”

Wrath spans ten tracks and finds Bleached Cross pushing further into post-punk, industrial, darkwave, blackened hardcore, and noise rock. The album follows previous singles “Crucible” and “Lingering Souls,” and centers on grief, guilt, mortality, and the struggle to preserve love in the shadow of loss.

Bleached Cross have released “Lingering Souls,” the latest single from their forthcoming full-length Wrath, out July 24, 2026 via New Morality Zine.

The track pushes the band further into the shadowy edges of their sound, pairing eerie, spectral vocals and strong melodic hooks with layered, synth-heavy atmosphere and an almost dance-like electronic breakbeat. Blurring dark post-punk atmosphere and new wave with rhythmic electronic experimentation, “Lingering Souls” stands out as one of the album’s most striking moments.

Zak M. says the song is written from the perspective of the dead, reflecting on final moments with someone before passing, and is meant as a reminder that those who are gone remain with the living through the bonds shared in life.
