Death From Above 1979 have announced their fifth album, Private Lives, due January 29, 2027 via Last Gang/MNRK. The record arrives as Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler mark 25 years as a band and follows 2021’s Is 4 Lovers.
The title track opens the album with the duo’s familiar distorted low end and hard rhythmic attack, but the new material also leaves more room for melody and Grainger’s vocals. The band describes “Private Lives” as a declaration of privacy in an era of overexposure; its Eva Michon-directed video stars actor Kim Bodnia.
Private Lives includes the CSS collaboration “Mystery,” along with “Dreams,” “Like My Ex Did” and seven other tracks. Adrian Popovich and Grainger produced and mixed the record. Watch the title track and stream the album pre-order below.
