First Joy

Los Angeles alternative rock band First Joy will be releasing their debut LP titled There Are Ways to Leave on June 5, 2026. The album will consist of 10 new tracks combining their influences from 90s spacey alt rock stalwarts like Failure, Hum, and Slowdive with modern emo, grunge, and slowgaze bands like Gleemer, Downward, Teenage Wrist, Warper, Seer Believer, and Ridgeway, featuring fuzzed out guitars, soothing melodies, and explosive choruses. First Joy is an Alternative Rock band formed by childhood friends Jack Ludwick and Jordan Kulp, drawing inspiration from 90’s alt rock stalwarts such as Slowdive, Failure, and The Breeders to modern heavyweights such as Gleemer, Downward, and 9million. The LA-based group formed in 2020 and released their first single ‘No Pain’ in 2023. Their EP ‘Unlimited Permanent Bliss’ was released in 2024, featuring production by Marshall Gallagher (Teenage Wrist) and Jason Inguagiato (Belmont). Following its release, they have appeared on lineups with bands like Prize Horse, Object of Affection, and Touch Girl Apple Blossom. Their self-produced debut album ‘There Are Ways to Leave’ will be out on June 5th, with new singles ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Little Jokes’ available now.
