Dopamine Chamber
Fontaines D.C.’s fifth album, Dopamine Chamber , arrives October 16, 2026 via XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, it follows Romance with a darker, more synthetic direction led by lead single “Marianne.”

Fontaines D.C. are a Dublin-formed five-piece featuring Grian Chatten (vocals), Carlos O’Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan (bass), and Tom Coll (drums). Emerging from Ireland’s post-punk scene, the band built its reputation across Dogrel, A Hero’s Death, Skinty Fia, and the James Ford-produced Romance, progressively widening its sound beyond the jagged guitar attack of its early work.
In 2026, Fontaines D.C. announced their fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16 via XL Recordings. Again produced by James Ford, the record is introduced by “Marianne,” a cinematic, synth-driven track centered on escapism and partially inspired by the series Ripley.
Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16 via XL Recordings. Across 11 brand new tracks produced by James Ford, the record follows 2024’s Romance and finds the Irish band pushing further into darker, more synthetic territory.
The announcement arrives with lead single “Marianne,” a cinematic, synth-noir track centered on escapism and inspired in part by the 2024 thriller series Ripley. The song comes with a new video directed by Dave Meyers.
Grian Chatten has described Dopamine Chamber as a darker and less hopeful counterpart to Romance, with the album examining pleasure, disconnection and unease in an increasingly troubled world.
