Fontaines D.C. return with their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, out October 16, 2026 via XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, the record follows 2024’s Romance and finds the Dublin band pushing further into darker, more synthetic territory while retaining the tension and unease that have long defined their work.

The album is introduced by “Marianne,” a cinematic, synth-driven track about escapism that was partly inspired by the 2024 thriller series Ripley. Grian Chatten has described the new record as a more corrupted and less hopeful counterpart to Romance, reflecting what he sees as the ugliness and unease of the present moment.

Fontaines D.C. Announce New Album Dopamine Chamber, Share New Single “Marianne”

Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16 via XL Recordings. Across 11 brand new tracks produced by James Ford, the record follows 2024’s Romance and finds the Irish band pushing further into darker, more synthetic territory.

The announcement arrives with lead single “Marianne,” a cinematic, synth-noir track centered on escapism and inspired in part by the 2024 thriller series Ripley. The song comes with a new video directed by Dave Meyers.

Grian Chatten has described Dopamine Chamber as a darker and less hopeful counterpart to Romance, with the album examining pleasure, disconnection and unease in an increasingly troubled world.
