Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, due October 16 via XL Recordings. Across 11 brand new tracks produced by James Ford, the record follows 2024’s Romance and finds the Irish band pushing further into darker, more synthetic territory.
The announcement arrives with lead single “Marianne,” a cinematic, synth-noir track centered on escapism and inspired in part by the 2024 thriller series Ripley. The song comes with a new video directed by Dave Meyers.
Grian Chatten has described Dopamine Chamber as a darker and less hopeful counterpart to Romance, with the album examining pleasure, disconnection and unease in an increasingly troubled world.
