Glittermouth

Formed in Peoria, Illinois by Chris Bayless and Jacob Heflin, Glittermouth play heavy, atmospheric alternative rock that pulls grungegaze and shoegaze into alternative metal, nü-metal and post-hardcore. Thick, distorted guitars give way to melodic passages without letting up on the weight.

With touchstones including Catherine Wheel, Failure and Hum, the band should appeal to fans of Soul Blind, Siilk, Trauma Ray, Title Fight, Balance and Composure and Narrow Head. Glittermouth released their debut EP None of This Matters in 2024 and have a split EP with Shallow, Glittermouth/Shallow Split EP, scheduled for October 23, 2026.

Glittermouth Announce Split EP With Shallow, Out October 23

Peoria, Illinois heavy alternative rock band Glittermouth have announced a new split EP with Shallow, arriving October 23, 2026. The four-track release features two brand-new Glittermouth songs, “Severed” and “Better Daze,” alongside two tracks from Shallow. It follows the band’s 2024 debut EP, None Of This Matters.

Formed by Chris Bayless and Jacob Heflin, Glittermouth blend the hazy, atmospheric textures of grungegaze and shoegaze with the heavier, more aggressive elements of alternative metal, nü-metal, and post-hardcore. Thick, distorted guitars, dreamlike melodies, and crushing grooves place them alongside bands like Soul Blind, Siilk, Trauma Ray, Balance and Composure, and Title Fight, while drawing inspiration from the ’90s alternative rock, shoegaze and space-grunge sounds of Hum, Catherine Wheel and Failure.

A new single is coming soon. In the meantime, revisit None Of This Matters below on Spotify and Bandcamp, and find more information on the split EP release page.
