Senior Living

Senior Living is a punk-leaning shoegaze band from Albany, NY. Started in 2019, the band has grown into an ever-changing cast of collaborators. They first made noise with the dream-coded 35mm EP (2019) and the raw, introspective Anniversaries LP (2021), staying rooted in the underground through shared spaces, basement shows, and self-booked DIY tours across the Northeast.

After another lineup shift, Senior Living began work on their second album and reintroduced themselves with the singles “caught doing things (i shouldn’t do)” and “lately.” The releases signaled a return—reconnecting with listeners and showing what the band learned during the downtime, from sharper mixes to more intentional visuals. Senior Living is a band focused on consistency, community, and making heavy, existential music that hits hardest when it’s played LOUD in a room full of people.

Drawing comparisons to Title Fight, Fleshwater, Nothing, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Gleemer, Senior Living fuse melody and aggression with a raw emotional core. Their music often sits at the intersection of driving punk energy and hazy, immersive guitar work with soaring melodies, giving equal weight to catharsis and reflection.

In June 2026, the band released their latest EP, existential, sudden dread, continuing to build momentum within the underground alternative and post-hardcore scenes.

Albany’s Senior Living deliver a shoegaze-soaked, post-hardcore punch on new EP Existential, Sudden Dread

Albany, NY’s Senior Living just dropped their new EP Existential, Sudden Dread on June 19—and it’s absolutely worth your time. Blending shoegaze haze with post-hardcore urgency, punk energy, and alt-rock hooks, the band channels a sound that feels both massive and deeply personal.

Across the EP, Senior Living dig into themes of guilt, addiction, and acceptance, pairing heavy, punchy guitars with anthemic melodies that stick. Fans of Title Fight, Fleshwater, Nothing, Gleemer, and Sunny Day Real Estate will find a lot to latch onto here.

It’s raw, loud, and emotionally dialed in—Existential, Sudden Dread is the kind of release that demands a full listen. Plain and simple: this band rips.
