New Jersey alt-emo band Sleep In. have announced their third full-length album, Tangled In The Vines, arriving September 25, 2026 through Choke Artist. The nine-song record is the band’s first full-length since 2019’s The Stars on Your Ceiling and is available to pre-order on limited vinyl now.
The band have also shared the album’s lead single, “It’s All Ratfucked,” an early look at a record that brings together Sleep In.’s intricate, Midwest-emo-informed guitar work and the immediate hooks of alternative rock.
“This record is a long time coming and represents Sleep In. at our most authentic, most vulnerable, and most fun,” guitarist Eric McNelis says. “We’ve never had a better time working on a collection of songs. This one was for us, and now it’s for you.”
Tangled In The Vines was recorded at The Gradwell House in Haddon Heights, New Jersey and contains 11 brand new tracks. McNelis engineered and mixed the album, with Dave Downham handling mastering. Guest contributors include David Osterhout of Bike Routes, Zayna Youssef and Sean McCall of Sweet Pill, Will Schade and Reggie Duncan.
Sleep In. will return to The Fest in Gainesville, Florida on October 24 for a showcase alongside Texas Is the Reason, I Am the Avalanche and Signals Midwest.
Sleep In. have shared “Jason Bourne Again,” the final single from their forthcoming album Tangled In The Vines, out September 25 through Choke Artist.
The New Jersey alt-emo band turns up the intensity on the new track with a punchy, guitar-driven arrangement and guest vocals from David Osterhout of Bike Routes. The dual-vocal approach gives the song a darker, more desperate edge that recalls the urgency of classic New Jersey emo.
According to the band, the song pulls from “a darker era” and memories of places they once lived and people they once were. Osterhout was a natural fit after years of the two acts playing shows together. “Jason Bourne Again” follows earlier singles “It’s All Ratfucked” and “Cigs Inside” ahead of the nine-song album’s September 25 release.

The new track pushes the New Jersey band’s alt-emo sound in a different direction, pairing angular guitars, harmonics and piano with a huge saxophone solo. Vocalist Tom Fowler says the song is about “walking that tightrope between desire and need” and the cycle of giving in to vices while still wanting to do better.
“Cigs Inside” follows previous single “It’s All Ratfucked.” Tangled In The Vines will be released digitally and on vinyl September 25.
