Sleep In. return with Tangled In The Vines, out September 25, 2026 through Choke Artist. The New Jersey band’s third full-length pulls together the angular guitar interplay of Settling, the streamlined punch of Tension & Release and the warmth of The Stars on Your Ceiling without sanding down the tension that has always driven their songs.
The album moves through self-loathing, daydreaming, personal struggle and the strange social rituals of party culture. Rather than treating those ideas as separate subjects, Sleep In. frame them as overlapping parts of everyday life: the half-hour before sleep, the gathering that ran too long and the version of yourself you keep meaning to leave behind.
Lead single “It’s All Ratfucked” offers the first preview of the nine-song record. Guitarist Eric McNelis describes the album as Sleep In. at their “most authentic, most vulnerable, and most fun,” adding that the band had never enjoyed making a collection of songs more.
Tangled In The Vines was recorded at The Gradwell House in Haddon Heights, New Jersey. McNelis engineered and mixed the record, with mastering by Dave Downham. The lineup features McNelis and Joe Franks on guitars, Tom Fowler on vocals, Neale DiMento on bass and Mike Dameo on drums.
Additional contributors include Will Schade on saxophone, Reggie Duncan on pedal steel, David Osterhout of Bike Routes on vocals, Zayna Youssef and Sean McCall of Sweet Pill on vocals, and McCall on piano and organ. Brian Mietz created the album artwork. The record will be released digitally and on vinyl, with limited vinyl pre-orders available through Choke Artist. Sleep In. will also return to The Fest on October 24 for a showcase with Texas Is the Reason, I Am the Avalanche and Signals Midwest.
